Project scope

To showcase expertise in an integrated robotic platform for tissue engineering and developing artificial joints using stem cells and 3D printing.

KU Leuven is an international community where innovative research forms the basis of all academic programs.

JOINTPROMISE project paves the way for high-volume, affordable production of entire biological joints, addressing a major socioeconomic challenge of the European ageing society.

  1. 3D the robotic tissue factory is shown.
  2. We had to create a detailed 3D model of a rare robot that changes its movements and moves cell plates between stations.

  1. We show the knee with an osteochondral defect. At the end of the video, we show the same knee, and the osteochondral unit closes the defect.
  2. Our task was to make a medically reliable model of a knee with a defect and the process of closing this defect.
